A House on Sale in Hokkaido, JAPAN
Hello,
This is a page of A House on Sale in Hokkaido, JAPAN. I am a missionary in Hokkaido, JAPAN from Dec. 1997. My family of 3 has lived in Tokachi sub-prefecture of Hokkaido over 25 years now. My son got married with his wife and continue to live in Tokachi area. Our focus is on unreached area of Hokkaido and one of the town called Urahoro was our first place to live in as we start to own a ministry house (A house where you can live in and also has enough space to host people for worship and fellowship.) This house in Urahoro town was a perfect one God has given us in the past 16 years.
Because of God’s leading to start to pioneer another place in Hokkaido, we needed to let this house to be on sale or rent. This caused me to create this website to give you detailed information about our ministry, the house, and the town of Urahoro.

Now let me go through the house first.

It has a separate entrance from outside, so if you want to have a separate use of the house, it can be done. So the whole house has 6 bedrooms and 1 bath, and 2 restrooms for each floor.
Asking price for this house is $98,000. The payment can be made in USD to US bank.

The land has 444 Tatami size. (7885.6408 square feet) The house uses 88.83 square meters (956 square feet) for 1st floor. 2nd floor has 71.28 square meters (767 square feet).

Tokachi area is very cold in the winter, but less snow during winter. Usually there will be 4 or 5 times to shovel the snow in one season. Tokachi is known for its sunny days not like Sapporo. Therefore, the insulation is very important. This house meets the Tokachi standard insulation. Main energy source is Kerosene.

Here you can see a big kerosene tank next to the small shed at the beginning of garden. We have vegetable garden with some fruit trees like prune and pear. What you see here is pine trees and flower garden.

The flower garden extends toward the end of the narrow stretch. Then the vegetable garden starts there.

Here you can see the vegetable garden. This picture was taken in July and lots of vegetable were planted here. On the right side, you can see a tip of the garage. Shutter is set at the entrance of garage.

This garage was an old house and it was transformed into a garage. It used to be located near the entrance of the property. But we moved it to the current place to have an open environment. You can still see the concrete base for the old place for garage where the current kerosene tank and a small shed are on.
As you can see, the parking space is gravel laid. To be exact, its recycled asphalt material.

Here is a street side of the house.

OK. Let’s come into the house. This is the main entrance from inside. The door is insulated-air-tight standard specification. The outside has a glassed room to keep the entrance warmer in winter.

Here is a living room 1F. A big kerosene heater that can also warm the floor under carpet. This creates warm air circulation in the room during winter. The whole room will be warmed as the floor heating system warms up the floor. This room was used to have fellowship and worship. Piano was placed in this room with big dining table where people will sit around the table. Everything in the living room has been removed and completely empty except the main Kerosene heater with floor heating system.

This heater can warm up the under-floor heating system also. It was replaced in 2021. Almost brand new!

Here is a quick view of the Kitchen from the dressing room/bathroom side. It is a system kitchen. The brand is Standard, one of the main system kitchen in Japan. The stove uses LPG as a fuel. It has spacious storage both top cabinet and under the sink area.

Here you will find the built in cabinet made by the relative carpenter in Urahoro town. This cabinet is very well built with smooth sliding doors. At the corner, you will see the boiler with accordion curtain. This boiler supplies hot water to the whole house.
Let’s come to the bathroom/laundry area.

It used to be like this.

It has hot/cold connector with drainage on the floor.

There is remote control on the wall that can turn on/off and keep the hot bath warm with this controller. Shower is also attached. Every part is in a mint condition. I have left the bath/shower filter since this makes the water very soft touch.

Ok. Let’s go to the Japanese rooms.
8 Tatami Room:

This room is a Japanese style room with 8 tatamis with a big Oshiire(Futon Storage). A window side, A storage side, and utility side with a door, and divider side to 6 tatami room.

Tatami has been kept clean by using carpet over them. All sizes have matching original drawings.
6 Tatami Room:
Here is a smaller Japanese room.

This divider divides both of Japanese style rooms.

As you can see, each room has Kerosene heater for winter season.

Here is the stairs leading to upstairs. To the right, you can barely see the restroom. Very easy wooden stairs. Each step is about 18 centimeter (about 7 inches high). I have paraplegic disability, but still manage to go up and down with the handle.

This is the restroom downstairs near the stairs. It is located between the stairs and the full bath with shower. Laundry room and dressing area is also located next to the full bath.

One of Japanese’s great invention is Washlet that can cleanse after you finish at the toilet with warm water shooting with massaging effect along with warm air drying.
2nd Floor:
Let’s go to the 2nd floor.

Here is the entrance of 2nd floor. The stairways have handle to grab for your safety.

1st door on your right is Toilet (Restroom), 2nd door on your right/left is a room. 1st door on your left is a kitchen/dining room. Behind this picture is the master bed.
Let’s see the toilet 1st.

It automatically opens/closes the lid when it senses a person. Both toilets on each floor uses the same washlet system.
Next, the north room:

South Room:

1st left is closet. 2nd left door is the entrance from the hall way. Right sliding doors to the dinging/kitchen room.

This window receives the most of sunshine from the South.

2nd Fl. Kitchen/Dining Room:

Left is the door to the south room, straight is a door from the hall way. The system kitchen is also “Standard” brand just like 1st Fl. kitchen. It has electric coil heating system for stove.
On the right side is a door to the master bed.
Behind is the window side.

Here is the master bedroom:

Through this window, there is a balcony where you can hang your laundry or dry futons. A cozy space where you can also have a BBQ.
To your right is a door to the kitchen/dining room.
On your left is a walk in closet in the following picture:

Left side is more like storage with hangers for shorter clothes. The right side is a full walk in closet to hang longer clothes.
Let’s take a look at the cozy laundry hanging area/BBQ area:

OK. That is all of the rooms.
Now, let’s go out to see the garage:

This garage used to be a small house. Now it became a garage. It has loft area also and it can be used as storage.
There is another shed:

It is seated on the concrete slab about a foot thick. On this concrete base, the garage was located before.
Next to it is the kerosene container (490 liter):

This container supplies kerosene for all of the heaters in each room both 1st and 2nd floors.
Finally, I will show you the under the floor around the foundation:

The inspection door is located at the laundry room. Once you open this door, you can actually go under the floor and get access all of the concrete foundation.

From the top, you find the insulation under the floor.
Then, the water inlet, and the grey water line. A thin beige line is kerosene line.
The whole of foundation is concrete base. The special kind of sand at the bottom absolves the moisture to keep the foundation area dry.
As you can see the foundation area is very healthy and the lumbers are still in a good condition to support the house.
This concludes the tour around the house.
Here is a picture from the hill looking over the town:

Can you find the house? If you can, you must be a genius.
